Pros

84 Lumber offers a career path for someone with no experience in the field and trains them to be proficient at selling building materials. There are lots of options for transferring to new places and upward mobility through relocation is common.

Cons

The company is stuck in the past. The computer system they use is antiquated and has very limited functionality along with no compatibility with other programs. The work week is 48 hours and while they pay overtime that is expected to make up for the lower base pay. Instead of the pay being variable to location and tenure in that position there are few options for pay increases that do not involve job change.
