      Great work culture, very interesting problems in search and cloud areas Innovation and recognition for great work Fast paced, ample learning opportunities in emerging areas like Big data and cloud Company sponsored events and activities, snacks

      Pay is better but could be even more competitive, however Amazon stocks rock

      Pros

      Lots of great technology being developed within the company, and the location in Palo Alto is great.

      Cons

      There's an older crowd, so it takes a lot more work for someone young to be social.

      Great location near Palo Alto Caltrain station makes it easy to commute to Located right next to best part of University Ave = great restaurants, cafes, shops You get to work on search and ads for Amazon, important part of the business Ability to work from home a fair bit, at least in my case and some of my team members, which is great if you have kids or live far away Good, stable place to work

      Cons

      With the Bay Area economy heating up, it's been hard to recruit talent Not the same buzz, excitement and scale as Amazon in Seattle At the time I was there, we were following waterfall planning (at least on my team) which is a little outdated for a web product
