Pros

The rank-and-file AARP force is the most dedicated, resourceful, supportive group you could hope for.

Cons

AARP Media management just finished their latest round of firing, almost exclusively, staffers who are 50-plus. It happens every four years or so; apparently they cost the company too much in pay and benefits.

Pros

Good pay, solid benefits, and generous resources.

Cons

AARP is a mismanaged organization. It has a gotcha culture. Boundaries are not set and when they do exist are rarely enforced. Culture is pervasive with bullying and trying to kill programs that are successful. There are more internal politics than there are on the hill. Regular harassment occurs and HR shams those that report it.
