Great salary, toxic environment

Pros

Great place to go, if you want to get paid well at a non-profit. The mission is nice too.

Cons

The place is a mine field of over-inflated egos, sycophants, and sociopaths. Nothing innovative ever gets done. It is 100% personality driven, and often the worst of the worst rise to the top.

Pros

AARP has a great vision, a well-thought-out strategy, and capable colleagues. One is lucky to work there. Well paid folks, good benefits, good growth for those who work hard and persevere.

Cons

It is competitive, as any large organization with aspiring employees. However, employees who do their job and focus do well.
