Pros

ABB offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health/dental/vision insurance, 401k - 7.5% matched, 3000 deductible fir FAMILY.

Cons

1. Toxic silos and resistance to teamwork Collaboration is talked about but rarely practiced. Some people are kind, but too many go out of their way to avoid responsibility, keeping work locked in their silo just to protect themselves. It creates a toxic culture where getting things done is harder than it should be. 2. Cold and ruthless treatment of employees The true heart of a company is shown in how it treats its people — and ABB has no heart. My layoff experience was handled in the most brutal way: a surprise Teams call with my manager and HR, told my position was eliminated, system access cut off within hours, and instructed to return equipment immediately. No humanity, no respect, just “you’re gone by end of day.” And this wasn’t just me — about 40 others were treated exactly the same way. Employees are disposable in ABB’s eyes. 3. Corporate hypocrisy Leadership constantly pushes values of integrity, respect, and sustainability, but their actions toward employees prove otherwise. Behind the glossy branding, it’s a company that prioritizes protecting the organization over valuing its people. 4. Bureaucracy over progress ABB is a slow, bloated organization where red tape kills initiative. Innovation and collaboration take a backseat to politics and protecting silos. Decisions are made far away from those doing the work, and employees are left powerless and voiceless

Pros

Not busy if no ddl incoming

Cons

Toxic management – Managers tend to micromanage, take things for granted, and often fail to recognize real contributions. Lack of knowledgeable senior engineers – The US team does not have anyone genuinely helpful. Many simply pretend to be “helpful” while doing very little actual work. To make matters worse, managers often trust these individuals, and you end up being blamed when things go wrong. They sometimes even take credit for others’ work. Unreliable colleagues – Many developers focus on faux-innocent talk rather than meaningful contributions. They make up daily updates, provide useless guidance, and are unable to design or make decisions without support from European colleagues.
