I really wish there were something positive I could say about ABM Industries, but my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
The onboarding process was a complete mess. As someone with significant experience in this industry, it was clear right away that the recruitment process is poorly managed. I had to complete my background check and drug test twice, and it took over three months just to get hired.
Once hired, the situation didn’t improve. There was little to no proper training. I was given multiple responsibilities without clear instructions or support, leaving me to figure things out on my own. The training process is disorganized and ineffective, and the pay is very low considering the expectations and workload.
After a few months, I realized this environment wasn’t sustainable. It felt like the only way to stay was to sacrifice your sanity and accept the chaos, which I wasn’t willing to do. I take pride in my work and believe in doing things the right way, and this company does not support that.
Human Resources was also very unhelpful. From the beginning, I felt the need to document everything—and I’m glad I did. This is the kind of workplace where keeping detailed records is necessary.
I would not recommend this company. If you do choose to work here, make sure you document everything—you will need it.
