nice atmosphere, some friendly people to work with for the most part
Cons
It is nearly impossible to get anything done without filling out endless forms and getting endless approvals. To have a simple piece of furniture moved from one room to another requires a ridiculous amount of effort. Very competitive and insecure in some departments that I won't name here as the people probably read this and are deservedly paranoid. Immature temperaments of some supervisors a real issue. Hiring Committee process a redundant waste of time. You can't transfer to another campus, even in the same position, without being interviewed again as if you never worked there.
