Pros
I was impressed with the availability of technology in the classroom although I had to quickly establish a relationship with the Media department of each campus I worked on. There are 7 campuses in Austin, so it was easy to live somewhere with a close proximity to one or more campuses. Other pros include direct deposit, system that allows you to evaluate your supervisors, assigned mentor as a new adjunct, use of gmail, etc.
Cons
There is a lottery type of complicated system to receive class assignments which seemed a little convoluted. As an adjunct, when I taught multiple classes, this often necessitated working at 2 or more more campuses. At one campus (SAC), the copy room staff was unhelpful and rarely kept the supplies stocked. For the area, it seemed to offer low pay, and like many community colleges, there were very few full-time teaching opportunities, so I had no opportunity to gain benefits, etc.
