Despite management's good intentions, I believe they are the company's biggest downfall. The culture varies tremendously between departments, and people are promoted because of management skills, not necessarily because they know how to do their job well. My manager couldn't do the job I did everyday, which to me is a vital part in being able to lead the team. The pay is also pretty low, and even though I was a top performer in my department with certifications, I only had a $1.20 increase in the two years of my employment.
