It likely varies by manager, but despite being senior level and having a history of successful project delivery my projects got micromanaged. Bids on projects were always low so managers would expect you to do tasks in unrealistic amounts of time, When there was a lot of work overtime was "mandatory" and when work was low it was a struggle to stay billable. I eventually left and was the 3rd environmental NEPA planner in the group to leave within a year. When I started there was a PTO policy but it changed to the FTO system which is certainty worse and only benefits the company.
