One of the most glaring issues I encountered during my tenure was the absence of constructive feedback and career development opportunities. Without proper guidance, it was nearly impossible to progress professionally. Moreover, the base pay offered was inadequate, forcing employees to work excessively long hours just to make ends meet, often relying heavily on commission. The implementation of Workday was a clear failure, leaving employees feeling ill-prepared and incompetent. Furthermore, the lack of transparency regarding commission structures added to the growing list of frustrations, making it difficult to trust the company’s intentions. Perhaps the most disheartening aspect of working at AHS was the evident presence of favoritism within the organization. It was disheartening to see that those close to management were given preferential treatment in terms of promotions and career growth, while others were left to stagnate. This inconsistency in expectations and the ridiculous hustle culture only added to the overall toxic work environment. The enforcement of in-office work despite the potential for remote work further exacerbated the situation, leading to unnecessary micromanagement and reduced employee morale. The toxic drama that permeated the office made it challenging for individuals who wanted to focus on their jobs and maintain a healthy work-life balance. The introduction of “unlimited” PTO was another broken promise, as it was later revealed that it wasn’t as flexible as initially presented. The company’s lack of honesty and integrity in this regard only further eroded employee trust. It is disconcerting to see a company that values profits over the well-being of its employees. The blatant disregard for work-life balance and the unequal treatment of employees based on their financial contributions to the company demonstrate a lack of empathy and ethics.
