Pros
Salaries and total compensation are very good. I would say, above market. Company has just too much profits and it pays no income tax in the U.S.. Expect to have a very good compensation offer.
Cons
AIG has not changed a bit from abusing the use of questionable practices. A culture of easiness rather than honesty and due diligence. Too bureaucratic. Very long selection process. Better be careful as company can easily dismiss you for no reason. During 2006 AIG was charged with accounting fraud and had to pay $1.6 Billion in fines and others. In 2008 AIG nearly crashed the entire U.S. economy and government (us) had to provide them a bailout of only $182 Billion, however in 2009 they distributed "performance bonuses" for $165 M for their great job in 2008.
