Pros

There is a lot of change, and that can provide good learning opportunities and growth. The location is good and parking is reasonable.

Cons

The culture is highly political and the structure and processes are extremely bureaucratic. You really cannot do anything without first getting approval from your boss and with more strategic decisions, New York. I mean anything. This obviously stifles creativity and innovation. There has been a lot of leadership turnover and corresponding layoffs. The layoffs have been executed in spurts creating distrust and making employees territorial.

Pros

Very competitive salaries good health benefits I always found really good comradery a lot of knowledge is shared comfortable work quarters

Cons

Sadly enough no security in the work place...Hank would never have let this happen, they hardly keep people until retirement they don't give raises any more just a one time amount given on an.annual basis which in turn you get bang on taxes

Pros

commissions on product sales can be as high at 6%. Nice cash balance pension in addition to dollar for dollar match on first 6% into 401k.

Cons

constant pressure to sell in house product to client base for commissions; unsuitable transactions are common (such as variable annuities to everyone even when they don't need on). They are losing beg higher education accounts right and left.
