Pros

Benefits are okay and you're guaranteed a daily workout. Corporate wants a culture. It could be a great company if they implemented structured systems to provide training to new hires.

Cons

Complete lack of proper training. They have a training guide, it's basically: be a casheir/ be a key holder/ be an inventory manager/ do the books. You need to teach yourself without having access to the SOP for each. You learn by them telling you what you did wrong rather than setting you up for success. You are timed on everything you do. You get 20 minutes to unload a 8 foot high freezer pallet; you need to scan 45 items per minute and have less than 5 seconds between guests. This would be fine if you were taught how to achieve these goals. You must know every aspect of the job even if it hasn't been communicated.

Pros

- Great pay - Great benefits - Wear jeans

Cons

- High stress job - Expect unreasonable goals and deadlines - Do not expect leadership to be on your side. Cover your butt; document every conversation (when, what, how the conversation went). - If you enter leadership as an external candidate, expect pushback from employees who have been there for a while. You will be tested. - Training will be very brief; take notes, ask questions, and be prepared to hit the floor day one after training as if you are a seasoned pro.

Pros

Pay is great, if you’re actually allowed to only work the 50 hours you’re paid to. Benefits are great and you’re going to need them because your body will be wrecked.

Cons

ZERO work/life balance, especially for leaders (not DM’s). DM’s can take time off and be unbothered and usually have a second work phone that they’ll just turn off, even if you need them. Constantly expected to do extra work on your own time with no additional compensation. Back breaking work, at an unreasonable pace. There’s being efficient, and then there’s what ALDI wants. ALDI expects you to be able to do pretty much an entire 15-25 pallet truck yourself, be on register as backup, do curbside and then your DM tells you it’s not enough and you’re a disappointment. Can your DM do those things? No. That’s not their job. Core values: consistency, simplicity, and responsibility. Yet ALDI stands for not a single one of these values.
