Pros

Compared to most retail stores Aldi pays pretty well. The benefits are also great! You get one week vacation time and 4 personal days and 3 sick days every six months.

Cons

Aldi's is definitely a place where team work is important. If your crew is not good, you will suffer! As a shift manager the brunt of the work falls on your shoulders ( literally). This job is very physically demanding! When something in the store goes wrong it is the shift manager who is reprimanded. The cashiers are usually lazy and need to be pushed. The store managers feel there main job is to tell the shift manager to do everything except make the schedule. Be prepared to work many weekends! You will seldom get a Friday or Saturday night off!!! Most of the time your days off will be Tuesday and Thursday. You must request off atleast 3 weeks in advance or you will not get the day you need off. The store manager gives himself the best schedule. Generally Friday and Sunday off. They also predominantly open, and they are only required to close one night a week. As you can probably figure that is usually a Monday night. Therefore, the Shift manager gets stuck closing most of the time.
