Area Managers are usually children. "Directors" as they are called (they are not in the legal sense) have never worked anywhere other than Aldi and therefore know nothing other than what Aldi people have taught them. They would be laughed out of the room were they to be interviewed for a similarly senior role in any other business. Culture of fear, intimidation and micro management will grind you down and dilute any interpersonal skills you have. There is no opportunity to progress for Store Managers. If you like working in a military style dictatorship then this is the company for you, otherwise you will hate it.

10-12 hour shifts, 30 min. break, very understaffed. If you have a family it's not the job for you!! Unfortunately the pay and benefits make it hard to leave "golden handcuffs "
