Pros

Time goes by really fast and you get a good work out. Compensation/ benefits package are good if you can keep to the minimum salaried hours

Cons

Work/ life balance....your entire life is Aldi when you become a store manager. When you get a new store the hours you put in are ridiculous, especially if you have an unethical incompetent district manager leading you in the wrong direction. On average I probably worked 60 hours a week, some weeks I put in over 70 just to keep up. My stress never seemed to end. Not enough sleep and when I did get a day off I was worried about my store. It was hard to find employees that wanted to give 100%, most wanted to be lazy and cut corners. Our warehouse would always run out of key items that were in the ad or seasonal leaving us to deal with constant barrages from unhappy customers. The allowed hours given per day were just enough but that meant I would work 11hours with no break and would have to literally run and work out of my mind every minute of my day.

Pros

ALDI provided me the opportunity to become a District Manager straight out of college. They provided me with unbelievable leadership development opportunities and training for a full year. After 4 years as a district Manager I was promoted to Director of Store Operations and again received excellent training for 5 months in three different areas of the company. The Director of Operations job gave me the ability to learn new skills and continue to develop as a leader. The impressive company growth allowed me to move into my current role as Division Vice President and I couldn't be happier. I recommend the District Manager career track to anyone who is self-motivated, driven and wants to make the most out of their life.

Cons

All of the positions that i have held provide numerous challenges on a daily basis. These have provided countless learning opportunities. People who are not fully committee to personal and professional growth may not enjoy these challenges.
