Pros

Cons Definitely Outweigh Any Pros

Cons

Ineffective Leaders, Bottom of the Barrel Workforce, Dirty Work Areas and Mass Exodus of Talented Employees Don't Waste Your Time Working or Shopping at Aldi. They do not care about their employees, the communities they operate in or their customers. I was present at the warehouse when a mid-aged, long-term cleaner there had a heart attack & died in the cooler area of the warehouse a few months ago. A go-fund-me page was set up for the family & the only contributors were hard working selectors. Greedy Aldi Warehouse Management did not give a dime. And selectors had to keep up the pace, while this man died. What does that say about this company & its management? You can save a few pennies here, but there is such a thing as a corporation that is too big & has a monopoly of the market. Americans should shop at American run companies & keep their dollars in the USA. Not in early 20th century atmosphere Germany. Shame on the long-time management here for how they treat people. Karma will intervene eventually.

Pros

Pay and benefits thats it

Cons

Absolutely zero work/life balance-they say they have it but it's a lie...upper mgmt wants puppets and yes-men running stores...asking questions about common practices will get u labeled as "negative"...since the last brother passed the people in charge are changing daily practices and making them highly inefficient...u can't trust anyone...and the worst thing they do is strictly hire district managers straight out of college with many of them never working prior to getting hired...they struggle with maturity and understanding what hard work is and the importance of family

Pros

the pay is decent for a grocery store. the health benefits are affordable. the 401k end of year matching is great (if you can afford to put any sort of percentage of your check to it).

Cons

physically demanding and there is no true chance to alleviate the strain on your body. you’re not ever going to meet their standards. the closing staff is seen as lesser than the opening staff and is treated as if they don’t meet standards. if you have any sort of restrictions on availability you won’t get hired and then they discourage it after the fact. they promote and promise to give you a work life balance but there really isn’t one. the pressure for ring speeds and speed in general is unreal. the computer calculates a ring speed but it doesn’t account for real life situations. the simplicity of the register hinders your ability to cancel things like a mistakenly hit card instead of cash (until it times itself out and lowers your ring speed). and the till drawer is set up in a way that is hard to not get messy.
