I liked my time at ALM

Pros

I liked my time at ALM. My experience was good due to my managers who I felt respected my opinions, ideas and me as a person. I was given many opportunities to grow and develop my craft during my time. I developed as a writer, leader and overall team player.

Cons

I think some editors are overworked and don’t have enough time to truly pour into reporters they’re overseeing. Needs more reporters.

Pros

Collegial people; some fine reporting; remote work is fine

Cons

Salaries are VERY low! So many people are trying to leave for Bloomberg or Law360 or another legal reporting outlet to earn a living wage! Every morning there was an editorial meeting about how many clicks articles received.

Pros

There are great people, decent benefits, and lots of innovation in certain areas.

Cons

No clear corporate strategy, especially in how to integrate various components and content areas. Executive team comes up with large ideas but rarely has a cohesive plan on how to execute the plan. And when the business unit has to execute, there are minimal resources. Or when someone points out some obstacles in executing the plan, the person is viewed as not a team player.
