Pros

Locally a good place to work, professional, high quality of staff people. Even in changing times poeple strive to do the best job bthey can.

Cons

Seems there is a disconnect between higher management commitment and plant operations. Management seems to be focused on non-critical elements of business. Thus the opportunity for GE to purchase Alstom.

Pros

Contractors are paid reasonably well. Alstom is a global company with domestic offices and offices abroad. Could be a good thing that GE has bought out the Power and Grid divisions.

Cons

There is not a lot of opportunity for entry to permanent employment, because there is such a high percentage of contract workers.
