Pros

Cutting edge technology in sheet metal; the strongest Field Service organization in this business and getting better; a National Service support group that is without parallel; very strong working relationships between Sales and Service. This is a place where a life and a career are made. Not a stepping stone to something else. We are looking for people who want to be a part of the Amada family for the long haul. Prove your worth here, and you'll have a job for life with people who will bend over backwards to support you.

Cons

Not many, as long as one understands all the points above, works to uphold those high standards, and accepts that travel is a part of the job basically at every level of the company.

Solid Product, Not So Solid Career Path

Pros

Our product truly is among the best in the industry. I'm proud to be a part of that. The work environment is relaxed for the most part.

Cons

The main downfall of working at Amada America is the fact that it is strictly a Sales-driven company. Other than sales, there is no career path, and no opportunity to grow within the company. You just remain in the same position, doing the same things, with little to no management or encouragement. On top of that, raises are non-existent. We don't even get annual performance reviews.

Pros

-Work load is demanding and very fast paced at times. Keeps you on your toes. -Although years ago benefits at Amada were close to 100% paid, I am happy to have the benefits they give now, unlike previous employers. -Small perks can be had if you are a strong worker. -Many "old timers" are a wealth of information. Treat them right and they will treat you right, nothing is for free. -Training is available but be ready to fit it in between your work schedule at times. (refer to first sentence of Pros above) -Amada has survived many years of rough economical times, I see no problem working here till I retire. -Advancement is there but can be very slow at times, most upper management have been employed on an average of 20 years. Some 30 plus, reassures me that I am valuable in a way.

Cons

-As in many industries, seniority plays a big role. At times I believe this hinders the younger Amada employee generation that has a valuable insight in the ever changing work force inside and outside the Amada group. -Pay can be better but seeing that many people in CA are non-employed, I am happy to be working.
