      Pros

      Dirk appears to be a very lucky guy - the recession bought him at least a year - a lucky leader is best since a competent leader is only going to do harm. Hector is finally gone. Kamakaze lawsuit vs. Intel is finally put to rest.

      Its still AMD so if you want to get anything done it is like swimming through concrete

      Pros

      The low level engineers are friendly and good people.

      Cons

      Long hours, constant work over holidays, weekends, and evenings. Low pay, few perks. Egotistical, stubborn managers, some that belong to a tightly-knit "old boys club". Zero attention to employee career/knowledge development.

      Pros

      AMD is an excellent place to work for those seeking to be involved with a company on the cutting edge. As a result of being on the forefront of technology, the work environment fosters innovation.

      Cons

      I really have to nitpick to find anything bad to say about AMD. The only real downside I'd say, is that as a hardware company, software (software developers etc) is generally the second class citizen in past years. Recently though, that has been changing.
