Pros

-They will pay you to learn and get your EMT license and they will hire anyone with a pulse that can read. -There’s a union that you can join to help you ensure that you’re treated fairly. The union reps are awesome.

Cons

-The pay is absolutely terrible. -You are a number and not an actual person to management. -The stations, ambulances and equipment are old, dirty and barely operational. -Working EMS in Tucson is sketchy and leads to burn out quickly. -There’s turn over rate is insane because of how employees are treated. -Supervisors and upper management will only talk to you if you get in trouble. They don’t care what your name is or anything about you. -AMR has a bad reputation for a reason. I figured I’d give AMR a chance and it was good for experience but that’s it. I’m not going anywhere here and neither will you.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience. We value hearing perspectives from the field, and your comments about pay, equipment conditions, workload, and communication highlight areas that are important to employees across the organization. Your insights on station operations and leadership interactions also help us understand where team members may be feeling additional strain. We appreciate you raising these concerns, and encourage you to connect with your HR representative for support and to discuss the challenges you’ve encountered.
