Dime-A-Dozen Service

Pros

As a private EMS service, the pay and benefits are better than government run EMS services.

Cons

You are nothing but a number to this company. As EMS professionals, we are underserved mental health wise as we see the worst of the worst. That is a given, and we know and expect it from the beginning of our careers. However, there will always be those calls that just get to you. Expect ZERO support from this company, ZERO empathy, and unless you keep your mouth shut and keep your pain and internal struggle to yourself, they will find a way to get rid of you because there will always be another warm body with a patch to fill your spot. The current director of operations is a "tough guy" who is quick to sniff out any sign of weakness. If you get injured on the job, you will lose his respect, completely.

Pros

PTO; 3% raises each year. Great discounts and benefits.

Cons

Communication in the Communication dept. needs a lot of work. In the communications dept., you can ordered in or to stay past your shifts if someone calls out.
