Pros

The pay is actually not all that bad. Medical benefits were good, too. Full medical, dental, eye, life insurance, 401(k). Nice looking units. Cool company logo.

Cons

Selective enforcement of company policies, with HR willingly turning a blind eye to the issue. That one is huge, blatant, and on-going. Major source of contention among many. Very well deserved reputation of providing poor quality ambulance transport services, especially on the IFT side. On-going complaints of billing dept sending patients to collections, when the patients had already paid their bills. Mgmt team will throw people under the bus to save their skin to cover their mistakes. Overall work environment hostile, unhealthy. Motivation based upon threats and fear directed at all levels. Field employee morale very low, in spite of being a 911 provider.

Pros

-Opportunity to work from various locations throughout the US. -Flexibility in scheduling time off. -The company is attempting to grow in global markets under the Global Medical Response name. -Staff strongly dedicated to public safety and patient care. -Diverse workforce nationally.

Cons

-Information not effectively disseminated down through ranks which in-turn makes it more difficult to understand goals and strategies to achieve them. -Not a very effective effort in developing employees or career planning.

Pros

Pay is fair for what you do

Cons

Mediocre benefits for such a large outfit Be prepared to subsidize AMR financially as you will wait to be reimbursed for mileage, and other job related expenses Poor customer satisfaction relates to low sales Higher priced than competitors Highly saturated industry, results in limited ability to gain market share Local management inattentive, out of touch with current economic drivers within the market, at times literally abusive to the clinical and sales team with threats of firing AMR has a reputation for HIGH turnover and layoffs Poor employee morale
