      Pros

      Free continuing education. Diverse work environments. some opportunities for advancement. Overtime opportunities. Living in a great city. Box style ambulances provide more room to work. No inter-facility transports for paramedics.

      Cons

      The pay does not even come close to supporting the cost of living. Poor top down communication from management. Weak union. Dated equipment and old worn down ambulances in some districts. Some FDs have a culture of disrespect for ambulance personnel. Poor employee retention.

      Peers, saving lives, 12 hr shifts, good insurance, HSA insurance card

      Cons

      management is iffy-andsy; treat employees like children who cannot manage more than one thing at a time, management mostly hired outside of company or employees that do not have a full experience in dispatch and clearance in all systems

      Cons

      Never get off on time. Held 3 to 4 hours past shift. Threats of being fired if you try to leave before their board is clear. Even if it's past your shift. No direction from management. Poor training. Bad equipment. No incentives. Bad raises. Same raise for everyone. Even if they are a horrible employee. Lowest pay around. There are better companies to work for don't settle.
