Sinking ship (pun intended)

Pros

Good pay, good benefits. There are a lot of places in the world you can work if you're willing to be flexible and move around. They used to have robust training programs (no more).

Cons

This company was once the pride of the industry, and the people reflected it. The company was innovative and customers loved them. That is no more. After years of BLEEDING money, the company has gone through many "re-organizations" and the organization is all but flat - leaving little room to advance. Cost has become the single minded focus, at the expense of training, development, and retention of talent. Jobs at all levels were churned due to a combination of firing and fleeing. Nepotism, and especially a "good old boys club" mentality, are rampant.

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, 52000 starting

Cons

Loosing hundreds of millions every year. Restructuring constantly. Uptight managment fear loosing their jobs. That fear is evident. 40 year old technology still used. I was fired after 2 weeks for lack of proffessionalism . Personality ENTP. Company is the opposite of innovative.

Death Throes

Pros

Company still retains a legacy of pride and success with many long-time employees who take enormous pride in their work. Was once a top company to work for and maybe the top company in the industry. Over 100 years old. Pay not bad and people were friendly and work hard. Decent benefits. Company has seemed to try to maintain its workforce and atmosphere in very difficult times.

Cons

North American side is in near total collapse. Operations, customer service, and commercial operate at very sub-par levels and customers are fleeing in droves. Awash in red ink. Dying a slow, agonizing death. Horrific management decisions have all but destroyed a once great company. Recently North American President left, and many managers have been fired. Singapore HQ is desperately trying to plug the holes but things to continue to decline. Talent looking elsewhere if they haven't left already. No opportunity unless you want to move to Singapore.
