Despite the company’s stated culture of sound mind, sound body, my experience was one of the most toxic environments I’ve worked in. The three regional headquarters — Boston, Amsterdam, and Tokyo — are often at odds with one another, which made it nearly impossible to create a cohesive vision or make meaningful progress.
Leadership behavior was another serious issue. My team endured verbal harassment from a leader for years, and despite repeated complaints to HR, no meaningful action was ever taken. This lack of accountability created an environment of fear and frustration that never improved.
The work-life balance was also unsustainable. Because of the need to coordinate across multiple time zones, it was common for my team to work 12-hour days, with meetings starting at 7 a.m. and sometimes going as late as 11 p.m. This pace was exhausting and ultimately unsustainable.
Finally, morale in the Boston office collapsed over the last year due to ongoing layoffs and the relocation of roles to Amsterdam. Those who remained were left without motivation or excitement about the brand.
Overall, I would not recommend this company to those seeking a respectful, sustainable, or supportive work environment.
