Good company but poor management at the Hillsboro Oregon office.

Exciting new technologies. Learning cutting edge technologies made the job very challenging. Training opportunities were available. Access to knowledge databases were also available in order to understand the new technologies. Benefits included medical and dental insurance with various coverage. Annual profit sharing was a plus. Long and short term disability insurance were also available in the benefits plan.

Cons

Office politics with management was chaotic. Unrealistic goals for achievement made it difficult to accomplish. Favoritism played a large role with management causing an unfavorable work environment. Personnel hired as managers lacked defining leadership qualities. ASML is a good company but the ASML office in Hillsboro Oregon lost sight creating a coordinate direction.

- The company is working with the latest and greatest technologies, some of which are still on the drawing board. - Highly succesful with impressive market share. - Smart and driven colleagues. - Excellent pay and leave/holiday arrangements.

Cons

- Due to the drive of ASML and its demanding customers to minimize time-to-market, employees should be really flexible and adaptive. - People management could be improved. - Traditional views on teleworking/working from home. - It can take many years before a young professional gets the opportunity for a leadership position.

In general, it is a fast growing, leading company in the semiconductor industry. It provides good exposure to winning corp culture, business process, working model and focus on execution. It will be beneficial to one's growth at the early stage of his or her career.

Cons

In the end, it is low volume, high tech business. The business model is highly focused, serving a very niche market. Working only in this company could become an issue if one would like further broaden his horizon, looking for other opportunities in other industry.
