Pros

Coworkers are enjoyable to be around and the work is interesting.

Cons

Work-life balance is nonexistent despite constantly talking about it. Project leadership has no idea what is required to get a project out of the door, regularly making impossible asks and refusing to take no for an answer when pushed back on. Many projects are understaffed but upper management has refused to increase headcount in spite of record profits every year. Line management will gaslight you for struggling in an environment where you are set up to fail, lie to your face to deflect blame, and fail to follow through on any commitment for assistance that you do manage to get.

Pros

ASML is a large company with fascinating projects to work on. The work is exciting, and the people are great. Additionally, there are excellent benefits, such as free access to Coursera and strong technical support.

Cons

I joined this company in 2017 with high hopes, but my experience has deteriorated by 2023 due to rapid growth impacting culture and employee well-being. Work expectations are unclear, and the review process is confusing, often favoring certain personality types over others despite claims of supporting neurodiversity. The environment has become toxic, with prevalent backstabbing and managers treating employees like interchangeable parts rather than valued team members. Feedback and evaluations seem arbitrary, based more on office politics than actual performance. There is also an implicit bias in promotions, limiting growth opportunities for many employees. While I respect what the company once was, it now struggles with direction and fails to support professional growth effectively. I hope these issues can be addressed to restore its former reputation as a great place to work.

Pros

The pay is good and the benefits (medical, holiday/vacation hours) are also great.

Cons

You have to look out for your own safety to a frankly ridiculous extent. Management is not doing nearly enough to prevent workplace injuries, or harassment (both verbal and physical) based on gender/sexuality/disability. If you're not a happy camper there is no help for you.
