Pros

ASML's growth over the last 7 years has been phenomenal. Almost every year has been record setting for Revenue. Management Team at HQ in Veldhoven, NL makes smart moves and gives their Customers what they need and not force new products onto the Customer’s.

Cons

Last year in the USA, they replaced Profit Sharing with a new Short Term Incentive Plan that has individual performance measures. They also limited Long Term Incentive Plan for higher Job Grades and Management. Then they introduced a new Salary Grade Pay Scale which went down, considerably, for certain tiers. All of this has made in more difficult to bring on new people and keep the ones we have.

Pros

Cutting edge, challenging work environment Overtime is very available and pretty mandatory There is a great deal of travel

Cons

- more managers than workers in many cases - management always seeking to find an angle to look better to Europe - managers and leads with no industry experience that decide policy against process - retaliation is very real if a manager feels slighted in any way despite policy - reviews are conducted by using an employee photograph and the management group deciding how someone is going to do prior to employee inputs are even received - reviews are on a curve and are a popularity contest - lack of advancement opportunities - salary increases fall far behind inflation and are minimal at best - Bonuses are based on stretch goals that are difficult or impossible to meet which allows the company that is making record profits to minimize bonuses to employees in the US - Attrition is high and getting higher. Experienced employees are leaving and getting higher salaries and more work life balance elsewhere. - schedule of work is too aggressive and created in a vacuum with a too small employee base to accomplish which stresses the engineers still working
