Pros

There is nothing positive about AST SpaceMobile, unless you’re an highly over paid manager.

Cons

Management tells us they want quality work over quantity. They then contradict themselves by saying they want 15 microns per shift when we haven't even been able to do 10. There’s never any parts to even produce that many even if we could, then they get mad at us as if the parts they fail to keep in stock is our fault. We have to ask to use the restroom every time and they time us, which I’m almost positive is illegal. Management said they’re going to start watching everything we do on the floor and see how long it takes us. The GM is sitting on the floor watching us as if his presence is gonna intimidate us to do more than we already do. There’s also no talking whatsoever or they threaten you with write ups. Management said anyone who isn't producing effectively is gonna be fired. They tell supervisors to snitch on anyone who isn't being productive so they can fire them. If the supervisors don’t snitch then they are threatened with being fired. You don’t want to work here. It’s almost as bad as a Chinese sweatshop. Management has no idea what they’re doing. The company will fail because of management, not because of technicians.

Pros

The work is usually very interesting. Some equity is provided, so you are exposed to the potentially large upside if the company succeeds.

Cons

Things can be very chaotic, which is perhaps to be expected from the rapid growth and extreme timelines the company puts itself through. The Pareto Principle is very pronounced here. There are a couple of employees who really drive cohesion and functionality in the company's software through the chaos, crazy timelines, etc. For the people who are making these systems function the work/life balance is rough, and the compensation is not correct--it appears that, for employee retention, the company banks on the novelty of the overall mission and the potential for long-term upside for employee retention.
