Pros

- Decent projects - Innovative technologies - Telecommute opportunities - Decent compensation and benefits

Cons

- Process nightmare (too much paperwork required for simple projects) - Too many hours. You work 60 hours a week minimum, but management tells you you can only record 40 hours in the time system. - They have a tendency to promote problem workers to get them away from projects/people. This is bad for morale. - New hires tend to come in at a level equal to or higher than more experienced employees. Again, bad for morale. - Poor work equipment. Employee PCs and servers are substandard which impacts productivity. Added up, I bet I spend an hour a day waiting for different systems to respond.

Pros

AT&T is a global company. It has been around for a long time.

Cons

Constant rounds of layoffs, every couple months (if even that) we are being told that they are going to reduce headcount.

Pros

Salary is competitive for the area. Currently hours and time off are flexible.

Cons

Job shifting, lack of focus and employee development. Managers are just punching the clock through our mergers they have lost the will to keep and retain talented employees. Daily we are faced with building sandcastles-we are given vague assignments without a any clue of how priorities fit in with the rest of the company. Jobshifting is rampant and employees job descriptions rarely match what we are doing. Lack of training, feedback and recognition, and communication has bred poor morale and unwillingness to take any risk or volunteer to get anything done. Just writing has made me realize that I need to get off my tail and start looking.
