Pros

At&t is a great place to work. Very engaged. Good bennifits. Very open with higher lever management

Cons

The pay difference between sales consultants and management seems incorrect. Alot of reps make more money than management

Pros

It is a diverse and inclusive company and you may have the opportunity to work with people from all over the world.

Cons

Do more and more and more with less and less and less. AT&T, at least in Mobility, has begun a regular 'house cleaning' by laying people off in a surplus and then turning right around and re-hiring people for the exact same positions a few months later. This has been happening on pretty much an annual basis for the past few years. After 18 years of service my job was surplussed in Jan 2015. I know at least eight people who were the same level of management and tenure as me who were also surplussed. In June a co-worker in my same organization (my former peer) contacted me about an opening he was approved to hire for the exact same position. When I reviewed the job posting online, there were actually SEVEN positions on the requisition. The person who was selected for the job was was also from our same organization and had been surplussed at the same time I was. When it was time to approve extending a job offer to him, the approving AVP stopped it and told him the jobs were not supposed to have been opened to external candidates. While I have no proof of this, it seems apparent this is a method of getting rid of more tenured employees (with older benefit packages) and replacing them with newer/lower paid employees. Another friend of mine, whose organization has gone through surplus the last three years in a row, just received a surplus notification on Dec. 1. Merry Christmas from AT&T!
