Pros

AT&T is large. They have lots of positions and lots of opportunities.

Cons

The company is Large. This means that your job function is highly specialized. You don't do lots of different things. You do the same thing.... over and over. The company was, at the time, in transition.... deciding they were more interested in becoming a content provider than a telecommunications company. The company changed and layoffs happened.
