      Relatively Great Job Security, Not Great Upward Mobility

      Pros

      Since most of the clients of the company are in oil/gas, manufacturing, and other industries that utilize mostly on-premises and slow-to-update data infrastructure, the rate of change, both in what employees need to learn and the market in which our jobs reside, has never been very rapid. This means that we have remained relatively stable in the face of the tech recession and the many layoffs that came with it.

      Cons

      The reason for the pros is the same reason for the cons: since change happens very slowly for customers, it happens just as slowly for employees. There is a real risk of career and learning stagnation if you only focus on the material that you need to know to do the job.

      Cons

      High workload, very fast-paced environment which can be a good window into lots of business activities but can be exhausting to keep up with pace at times.
