Horrible job with great benefits

Pros

The benefits are superb and the salary is ok considering. Fortunate to still be full-time considering current events

Cons

The job itself can be horrendous due to the customers, which is understandable considering it’s a call centre role, and the internal communication leaves a lot to desired for. Some of the systems & processes could do with an upgrade too but suggestions often fall on deaf ears

Thanks for your review. Given your comments and the fact you are a current employee I would like to suggest you perhaps talk to your line manager around the communication you feel is lacking. Our IT systems are being upgraded as write this and in a very short period of time all employees of AXA UK will be on the latest Microsoft systems allowing fantastic access and communication with each other. I hope this helps with that part of your concerns.

Pros

Great perks, good company to work for overall, training available clear progession path and international opportunities available.

Cons

During my time I have experienced exclusive forms of banter and double standard.

Thanks for your review. Our Inclusive culture is something we take huge pride in and it saddens me to see you did not feel that when you were with us. We work hard to ensure that everyone can be 100% themselves at work and have our Employee Resource Groups to drive our culture agenda in all areas of diversity. There is absolutely zero tolerance on racism at AXA; we have policies in place to ensure behaviour like that does not take place and actively encourage employees to talk to their line manager if they are aware of any issues.

Pros

Helping great customers, products I believe in, normally supportive employer, 35 hour FTE week. Paid leave, good holiday, bonus.

Cons

Made large parts of the staff redundant in lockdown after telling us we were all keyworkers and made us able to work from home buying. Chronically understaffed, making back office workers assist on the front line instead of getting sufficient claims handlers. Terrible blame culture. Dead man's shoes career progression. Promotion interviews all in the outdated STAR format. They monitor how long you pee for.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, it was great to read the pros you listed. The redundancies we have just had to make in October 2020 were not as a result of the Covid-19 crisis but as a result of changes we are making to digitalise, to stay efficient and to continue to focus on our customers. Redundancies are very sad for all involved and we are committed to supporting all our staff that may have to go through that very difficult process. All your comments will be taken on board and used as part of our continuous improvement process.
