Pros

Good pay, great benefits, good working schedule, good talent, always looking to innovate and the competition is good, but not as good as Abbott.

Cons

Heavy politics are in place at Abbott and to move up the ladder, one must play the political system to his or her advantage.

Pros

Abbott seems to be a very stable, conservative company. The company has done a nice job diversifying its portfolio. Abbott is a respected name with customers.

Cons

Most of the cons are due to issues bigger than Abbott. The problems with my job would be similar with most pharmaceutical companies. There is little job security due to changes in healthcare and the poor economy. In addition, the selling environment continues to deteriorate, which leads to little, if any, job satisfaction. Abbott isnt a bad place to work, but selling pharmaceuticals to primary care is not the best place to be in my opinion. Abbott does have a number of divisions that are appealing, but movement is clogged right now due to downsizing in the company.
