Pros

Although an older established company, the current employee base is of a younger generation. This makes for a more laid back work environment. Dress code is relaxed, overall communication within the team is light and easy, and you get the sense that everyone is working toward the same goals, even though the goal is simply to get their job done. You can hear chuckles in the office as team members banter about both work and personal life. Makes it easy to come to the office and work with others. Company holds employee events a few times a year where you can be yourself and enjoy a cocktail with your team. Great team building and always nice to get out of the office. Compensation is fair and there are perks for referrals.

Cons

Per mid level leadership, the company communication is separated by the departments and it is encouraged to keep the departmental division. This may be a normal occurrence in many places, however the means in which it is communicated gives the impression that there are consequences for not doing as instructed. When hired I was told that ideas for process improvements were welcomed. After 6 months in the department with none of my ideas considered, I decided to simply put my head down and continue to work through what was in place as my ideas would not be taken serious and I had a large work load. No communicated vision from leadership/ownership. Seems as though no one below the executive level knows where the company is headed as there has not been a quarterly or annual recap of the company. A State of the Union, CEO/Chairman's Letter, MD&A, Town Hall, etc. would be great to help the employees work towards and believe in the goals of the organization. These are common issues of smaller companies and attention to detail and coaching team members into leaders would be beneficial.

Pros

Not a lot. Hybrid-work schedule. Co-workers are pretty cool. I guarantee you can find a better job at a better business than this.

Cons

Disorganized and theres no leadership. Alot of people are leaving like president and cfo and the new business they used to talk about isn't happening. Office has been falling apart and it's gotten alot worse. Passive aggressive paper signs are taped all over the place. 401 k isn't good. Management doesnt care about employees and made us come back to the office before covid vaccines was available. Raises aren't good.

Thank you for your feedback! We have certainly had some recent resignations that correspond with the current labor trends all organizations are facing; however, it has allowed internal staff to step up and take on leadership roles. Creating a positive employee experience is our top priority at Access One. We continue to create and roll out additional people programs that have included a tuition reimbursement policy, learning platforms and training to encourage continued career growth. Collaboration and Culture is very important to us, so we called all employees to return to the office 4 times a month in a staggered schedule in mid-April when vaccines became widely available to all adults. This approach helped foster increased communication between departments to better service our clients while following all OSHA and CDC guidelines. I’m also happy to report our organization has had no inter-office Covid transmissions due to our diligence. Any employee who expressed concern on not having both doses of the vaccine were allowed additional time before returning to the office. We continue to evaluate all benefits provided to our employees and continue to benchmark across the industry to remain competitive in the market including our 401(k). Labor posters and Covid related signs are posted in our breakroom and entryways to remind our employees to social distance and monitor symptoms. We do prefer our employees take a day or remain working from home if they exhibit any flu-like symptoms to keep our people healthy! We fully reward our hard-working staff and continue to always assess pay to promote pay equity. My door is always open and encourage employees to stop by to discuss issues that concern them.

Pros

Access One is on a strong path to being an incredible company. We operate as if we are a 25 year start up. The company has implemented many processes and ideas in order to correct what many employees had concerns about. Our new President is the right individual for the job and everyone is a firm believer in his process and plan for making this place great! A very exciting time to join the team at Access One.

Cons

Past leadership unfortunately has caused some major issues when it comes to organizational processes and roadblocks. However these issues are being corrected by the new President.
