Thanks for your review here, and I really appreciate the level of detail, which is impressive.
I am glad that you like your schedule, the culture of being appreciated and acknowledged for your work, the individual work, your great local management and the amazing benefits. I am sorry that you don't attribute any of that to my leadership, and that you let the location of the selfie videos be the only measure of my worth. I am the a huge proponent on our continually improving benefits for our team members (like the addition of the team member fund) and the push for continued leadership training, as just a couple of examples. I do, however, take your feedback to heart and will work to be more selective about the filming locations for my selfie videos - even though I travel nearly 40% of my time as part of responsibility in running this company, most of which is to visit team members, or continue my work in records management globally, which helps the company grow. And, yes, I do take vacations, and often to Hawaii, which is where I was born and raised and started my records management company (and where I relocated my family away from for the travel demands of this job!). Also, I will add that the selfie videos were intended to be helpful to the company and the team members. I don't enjoy filming them - they certainly aren't any fun to film, and can be quite challenging to get done, so it is just a bummer that they struck the wrong cord with you and you forever deemed them unworthy because of the location in which they were filmed, seeing no value in their content.
Also, I do find it hard to believe that those videos are the only thing you have ever seen from me. We do regular company wide calls that every team member should see, and I lead those calls, so not sure how you have only seen me on the selfie videos. I am sorry that my visibility efforts are not more effective, and I will work to improve that.
You make a good point about upward mobility; it is limited in smaller branches, but if you're willing to relocate, there are dozens and dozens of opportunities to move up and around, so please check out our careers page on the website. I love to see team members take advantage of those types of opportunities here at Access.
We also do annual merit increases and also evaluate market compensation annually, so I am not sure what you mean about bumps in pay only come when new team members are hired - that just isn't right and if that is the situation for you, I highly encourage you to reach out to your HR business partner, or speak to your supervisor directly.
It is true that the warehouse is not kept a constant 72 degrees and is prone to swings in temperatures with the weather, and our business is client demand driven, so we can have very busy days and light days, but the norm is definitely not boring - and as you can read in other reviews, many team members think he workload is quite heavy. I hope that you're not bored on those slower days, as there is always work to be done - and, again, I encourage you to check out our careers page. You certainly seem driven and detail oriented.
Finally, you're right about career planning and advancement. Even though we have invested a lot in leadership training and career ladder development, we can be better at it - and it is something that I will continue to advance.
Thanks again for your review here and thanks for all that you're doing here at Access. Please feel free to reach out to me for any reason at ralston@accesscorp.com.
Best,
