1. The technology used is outdated in both front end & backend.
2. The Sr. Management in SEG (in Kolkata) has no knowledge about latest technology.
3. The some Sr. Management people in SEG (Kolkata ) are involved in dirty politics. They are suffering from fear psychosis of losing their job. Whoever is giving good suggestion for upgrade of the technology they become enemy of those people as they think that their existence in the organisation will be at stake due to no knowledge about new technology.
4. Some people in Sr. Management (in SEG Kolkata) direct team members to start coding even without understanding client requirement.
5. Employees who are telling the truth & pointing to the shortcomings of Sr. Management people (in SEG Kolkata) were forced to resign.
6. The non performers who in good book of Sr. Management people are getting promotions & good amount of salary increase in comparison with others. Appraisal rating of the employees are not performed based on performance but on perception. The Senior Management gives indulgence on groupism & decisions are taken whimsically without considering the merits & demerits of the decisions.
7. SEG director is patronising all the dirty activities in the organisation.
8. SEG Sr. Management people always try to make good employees scapegoat.
9. During my stay in Acclaris, whenever I tried to meet SEG director, I could only meet him in the smoking zone.
10. In one occasion I was told by SEG Director “when you are getting the pay cheques regularly why are you thinking for the betterment of the company?”
11. The architecture of the product is very poor. The total business logic is written in Backend Oracle stored procedures instead of middle tier which leads to extremely poor performance of the product. The Stored procedures are not modularised for scalability. The Oracle Stored procedures uses the concept of Oracle 7.1 though the software is used is of the version of Oracle 11.2g. The developers are not allowed to use any latest feature of Oracle.
12. There is no proper process followed in SEG Kolkata. In the name of Scrum methodology they are bypassing all the good practices of software development. Even sometimes changes are directly performed in Production environment without keeping a copy in version Control tool.
