Pros

The job itself is pretty simple. If you like being front-facing, interacting with people, and enjoying making sales, this is great. During holiday times there is extra shifts available. Depending on the program you are in and if offered there are spiffs for sales, albeit meager ones.

Cons

During training season you do not focus on sales but instead use a poorly engineered app to train the retail employees. Most employees do not want to do this training as they already have product training through the retailer. Depending on your manager the job can be tediously annoying only because the manager is poorly skilled as a manager. There can be a great deal of micromanaging as well. Pay is quite low especially when accounting for training season where you will be required to drive to multiple different retailers, and the gas reimbursement is near nonexistent. PTO does not accrue at a reasonable pace. Also, there are times at the beginning of the year they have "dark weekends", this is when you have the weekend off. This makes pay quite inconsistent. SSpecificto the manager I had in my district my manager was quite notorious for lying, any communication you have with this management team, I HIGHLY advise you, to keep it in writing. Write-ups are handed out superfluously, explaining challenges to your manager about a particular store or location often falls on deaf ears. You will be left to your own whims to build forced relationships. This problem could be solved by the district manager sending an email to the store manager and creating a warm email, but management is so incompetent they barely can turn on their computer. There is also a lot of churn for the reps, due to the poor management and terrible asks that create a hassle that makes the pay not worth the ask, reps leave quite quickly. Another note that is not as a big con but still a lack of a benefit is the program you get hired for often does not allow the rep to get discounts for products purchased from them, like if you are an intel rep, you don't get discounts for intel products.

Pros

Flexibility, decent pay for the work, and no micro-management. A lot of freedom (Could be a double-edged sword)

Cons

Not enough hours. Rarely extra hours (only on holidays)
