Pros

Great Company and Culture, most managers are great, are able to move within teams to fit what you want to do. CEO is the best there is.

Cons

Some technology is lacking, "climbing the ladder" is more time worked vs performance

Pros

I love working at Acuity. Great benefits, nice people and wonderful building. They have recently started working from home one day a week and I am hopeful they will extend this. Recent pay increases in the underwriting department has brought Acuity more in line with competitors.

Cons

I have been told (and noticed) by those who work in the services area (processing, reception, building maintenance etc) that this area was much different. The attitude is not the same among the staff and management does not appear to follow the positive attributes as other areas of the company.

Pros

Work life balance is fantastic. The culture is one of respect and authenticity. People truly care about each other. Teams and departments work together well. Leadership is accessible. Benefits like 401k and education reimbursement are great. The facility with onsite cafeteria, workout facility, and standing or sitting desks make it easy to come to work. Perks like happy hours, random company parties, and gifts keep it lighthearted and fun. Acuity is incredibly stable and has a bright future.

Cons

For a company with such great benefits, their paternity leave is shockingly bad and their PTO is average to below average. Besides entry level training there’s no formal career development (unless pursued on your own time through school). Feedback isn’t common, and performance reviews are done once a year. There’s no transparency in compensation or performance. Managers are more like subject matter experts than partners that guide you through your career and develop you (they’re brilliant but not people developers).
