I work on a great team, who backs me up when needed, and I back them up. The IT department is great and efficient. Keeping our local news local is of great value to our local communities.

Cons

Communication between all of the teams - display advertising, classified advertising, editorial, pagination. Communication is great for each group, but between the groups needs some work.

There are some very good people involved in the company, who want to do a very good job. The company overall is not a slash-and-burn outfit like a lot of corporatized newspapers are nowadays - they want people to have a chance to do the work, instead of (only) cutting, cutting, cutting.

Cons

Because of staff shortages and hours restrictions, there is a lot of work to do and not a lot of time to do it. It is also hard to see some staff who don't put in the effort be rewarded because of which paper they work for.
