Pros

Um.... um.... um... yeah I've got nothing

Cons

Let's start with the fact that I worked for Adams Publishing. They bought a hometown, 100+ year old paper that had an 85% market share. Last I heard, it is around 10%. We had a guaranteed commission - that stopped. We had a 12% 401k match - that stopped. They removed the management from the building during their (hostile) takeover in order to offer promotions to "friends" who have been with them in other markets for who knows how long. They ignore seniority and hire people off the street who former management repeatedly turned down due to lack of qualifications. All in all this is a poorly run company. They are unfortunately purchasing papers in order to take all of the money they can before either selling them or closing them. They are a hedge fund who have no knowledge of the industry nor do they care.

Worst Communication Ever

Pros

Decent pay, they don't keep tabs on employees so it's easy to focus on what's important versus taking blind orders.

Cons

I could write a book on the cons of this company, but I'll keep it short here. They don't care about local communities, employers, clients, vendors, processes and operations, or how money is spent. They fire people based on numbers and "loyalty" (years employed) instead of talking to teams about who is valuable and why. They hold pointless meetings with anywhere from 5-80 without any agenda or talking points (massive waste of time). They also don't care about moving forward in the digital world despite thats what they claim to be championing; outdated software, denying expert advice, and refusing to adapt process changes that involve modern tools are just a few examples. Oh, and every single deptartment head was gifted their position because they have an inner circle of friends that existed before they started APG corporate. I.T, HR, Design, Accounting, etc are all ran by the most incompetent people I've met in my life; in regards to their respective positions. Avoid this company at all costs, and if you work there now you should be looking for a new job starting yesterday!
