Pros

The people I managed were terrific. We had a great team of 8 managers and an admin assistant. We all worked well together and as a team.

Cons

Management and corporate office are non-supportive. They set you up to fail and treat employees badly, thus a high turn over. They go through managers, staff and directors bi-yearly. Terrible working conditions and low pay unless you are a center director.

Pros

Pays high level employees well compared to others in the same industry.

Cons

Company breaks laws and spends lots of money to protect itself. Company is litigation crazy against government and executive staff they dislike. Company does not respect employees and provides no loyalty to employees. Adams is quick to terminate employees who they feel may challenge them or does not meet goals for their bottom line; however, they make exceptions to whomever they favor, usually on the basis of old relationships and associations.

Pros

Great staff and students. Its good to see growth in trainees and rewarding to see them turn their lives around. Its a scenic spot on Treasure Island with beautiful views in the heart of the Bay Area.

Cons

The salary is way low compared to other companies, including education, and Job Corps. San Jose JC run by another contractor easily pays $5-10k more on average per position. Its hard to move up, and when you do, the pay is almost not worth the extra hours and responsibilities. Some, but not most, of the students are entitled and won't change, using the program as a bed and breakfast. If you choose to work here, start looking for something else on day one and use this as a launch pad as you stabilize your life or gain experience.
