Toxic work environment

Pros

If you enjoy a binge drinking/frat house atmosphere and don’t care about your future or company morale, this place is for you!

Cons

If you are a woman, a POC, or simply a human with decency who is looking for a great career and a healthy work environment, this place IS NOT FOR YOU. Hoping this review might save someone from ever working here. Never experienced such a horrific work environment in my entire life. This is a racist, cliquey, immature, hostile work environment. Anyone with an ounce of morale will either speak up or quit. As soon as you speak up about the corrupt environment, you are gossiped about and no longer supported. Highly unprofessional - and that’s not in a “fun” or “cool company culture” type of way. It’s highly unprofessional in an uncomfortable, degrading type of way. Heard employees make fun of multiple new hires right from the get go. Managers will also only hire “attractive” predominately white, recent college grads for recruiters (assuming the binge drinking is a great selling point for that niche) And those who have already been there for years are brainwashed into thinking a refrigerator full of alcohol is “company culture” and ok to consume at 1pm on a Monday. Multiple rounds of shots at happy hour (could be 6 shots per person) are charged on the company card yet managers belittle their recruiters for not meeting their numbers... TOXIC. Favoritism left and right. Managers gossip more than their own employees do, so they just encourage that type of high school, childlike environment. Higher ups will claim the high turnover rate is simply part of the recruiting industry - when truthfully their management style is garbage, resulting in employees crying everyday in private, hating their life, or moving on to a more ethical recruiting firm with better pay. As soon as I got hired here, recruiters and BDMs were quitting left and right. Most of them warned me of the horrors of this place and my regret is not leaving earlier on. When I saw the married, middle aged male in my office inappropriately touching and grinding on the dance floor with a recent college grad recruiter at a work event, I knew this place was trash.

Pros

I've worked at 3 other firms before Addison, and am going on year 6 here. This is the most flexible environment I've worked in thus far, so long as you're producing and doing your job. This is the type of environment that I prefer to work within. Different teams and divisions operate somewhat differently, but the culture is strong throughout, and leadership knows what they're doing.

Cons

Not a huge fan of commuting Downtown, but it beats the Galleria area all-day-any-day. Not really any other complaints. There are the typical growing pains a company experiencing the type of growth we're experiencing would typically have, but that is par for the course.
