Pros

You can make great friends because everyone is young and miserable. Learn on your own or die.

Cons

It's an agency. They'll promise you the world and deliver a stale donut. The HireStrategy part of the company is sort of better, but ultimately the higher ups just put a lot of unrealistic expectations on folks and get rich in the process, while the young people who are actually doing the work are treated like crud. They'll get your base salary as low as possible and then squeeze you dry beyond that, while always promising more - that you'll "pop" one day and your desk will be amazing. Sure, you can get what you put into it. But you have to put in a LOT and treat people like dirt in the process.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience at Addison Group. We pride ourselves on being a performance-based, people-first culture, and that philosophy has served us well building a great company and industry reputation over many, many years. As you aptly put, you get from it what you put into it and we fully understand that type of balance can naturally vary by individual. We wish you all the best with your future pursuits.

Pros

Lot of young people with similar interests like going out and drinking, working out, joking around a lot in the office. You can write your own paycheck for the most part if you put in a lot of extra time. Many people make a good living right out of school.

Cons

There are a lot of problems with diversity and discrimination in general. Employees are taught to avoid candidates with certain ethnic backgrounds or from certain countries. People would use letters to code candidates in the system, the codes would usually include someone’s race, gender, size, age etc. People said it helped them remember who the candidate was but it was also used to make sure we didn’t send certain races to clients who asked us to discriminate. There was no diversity in the office or across the company for the size of the company you would expect more. We didn’t have workplace harassment or diversity training. There were many work related drinking events usually a couple a week. There were always inappropriate things going on at those events. Executives would participate when in town. If you complained about the behavior you were told that “it’s part of the culture”.

We sincerely regret that your personal experience with Addison Group was a negative one and appreciate your taking the time to speak up. We certainly don’t claim to be perfect, but we take every single one of our business practices – and the behavior and conduct of our people – very seriously. We have zero tolerance for any degree of candidate discrimination as mentioned in your review. While we have made our stance clear on racism and discrimination, in light of recent events in our country, we are reexamining our practices around diversity and inclusion to continuously improve – critical to successfully building any great business today.
