Pros

I enjoyed working with my coworkers. They have a good relationships there. Management is okay.

Cons

Staffing is bad especially during Covid. The communication from management is bad. We’ve had patients pop up positive for stuff and nurses that took care of them won’t find out from management. Only by word of mouth.

Pros

Competitive pay, tuition reimbursement, retention bonuses

Cons

Poor PRN rate and high PRN shift requirement, bad health insurance benefits, poor organizational leadership. Focus on things like dress code and scrub hat colors versus keeping experienced nurses.

The Honest Perspective

Pros

After working for AdventHealth for more than three years, I have seen it come and go from 'Florida Hospital' to it`s current name to announcing that they`re building a whole brand new hospital/building and will be undergoing construction. The constant innovation and willingness of the company to want to do more appeals to me, and makes me excited for the future. The team that I work with is tight knit and honestly I could not ask for a better family. Schedules are flexible under my management, and I like that they respect other employees going to school and encourage academic and interpersonal success. Despite my grievances I would recommend this place to anyone seeking employment. It is a relatively good company and even though I may go in detail below, majority of the people you will interact with are pleasant.

Cons

Here`s where, unfortunately, this review gets superbly honest. I feel as if a lot of the nonclincial staff gets forgotten by the vast majority of the hospital, and there is hardly room for recognition. I speak with a good amount of employees as per my duties and the feeling is mutual across the board. I cannot count the times I have had staff members be quite rude with me simply when I was trying to perform my job duties, and in some cases, offer a helping hand. It supplies the feeling of being treated like dirt beneath the crevices of ones shoe. I would not bring this up if it did not happen seemingly on a daily basis, believe me. Management does tend to play favorites, and shame on you if you try to take a vacation or use any of your PDO days- as soon as you return your hours will be cut and you will be struggling trying to make back those days you have lost. We don`t talk about holidays. Those dont exist. Communication between departments and on a employee to supervisor/manager level, at least in my jobs case, is extremely lackluster, and we never have an idea of what we are doing right or wrong. Don`t get me wrong- I admire my manager for what they do, but this aspect of my job seems to just decline each year.
