Pros

Working around all types of aircraft, most your coworkers share an enthusiasm for aviation. Almost everyone is Part-Time, so schedule flexibility is the only benefit provided to Line Service employees. The FBO Manager truly cares about his workers, but doesn't expect the majority of his new hires to be employed at Aero Air for more than 6 months.

Cons

Pumping leaded fuel, dealing with entitled customers, and cleaning aviation toilets gets old fast for barely above minimum wage. If you're a hard worker, get used to doing more than others. Raises are not to be expected at Aero Air. Treated like you are a paid intern, told to be grateful for the experience. Asked to preform duties without proper safety gear or training.

Thank you for your feedback about your position at Aero Air. We value current and former employee input and take it seriously when developing policy and internal processes. We agree – our FBO Manager is an amazing leader who cares deeply for the team. Most positions in the FBO Line Service department are part-time roles. We often employ early career individuals who are in college or flight school, or those who are wanting part-time employment. We work hard to accommodate everyone’s schedules to meet their obligations outside of work and provide the opportunity to learn about aviation from the ground up. It is no secret, the job involves filling aircraft with fuel, working directly with clients and emptying aircraft lavatory, as just a few examples of the duties; we list these tasks in every job posting so applicants understand what the role entails. We pride ourselves on being competitive with our wages and conduct regular market reviews. The wages of our employees are reviewed annually, and market or merit increases occur when warranted. Typically increases are granted once a year. Employees go through extensive safety training, lasting at least 3 months. Each employee is issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are expected to follow all safety rules and guidelines established by the company. In addition to encouraging open, honest communication about any safety concerns, we also have a Safety Comment Box where employees can share any idea or concern they have. Comments are reviewed monthly by our Safety Committee, and we take timely action. We believe what we provide in a positive, safe, flexible work environment far outweigh the less desirable aspects of the role, such as emptying a lavatory. Thank you again for your feedback – if would like to speak directly to Human Resources you are encouraged to reach out to HR@aeroair.com.
